Cyclone Separators

Cyclone separators Rees Memphis is a manufacturer of cyclone dust collectors, also known as dust separators, for a variety of applications ranging from small shops to large plants. The Rees cyclone is a centrifugal dust separator for heavy dust particles and waste.

The models that we offer include the Model K, Model KL, and RHV. These cyclones combine quality construction with proven design to provide maximum durability and efficiency. Our cyclones are used in various industries, including, but not limited to: woodworking, grain and plastics, and special modifications designed for paper handling systems.

Fiber and dust will exist, and cyclonic separation may be used in place of or in front of filters. This allows for larger particles to be broken down before the air is filtered. Also, cyclone separator systems are used to separate two immiscible fluids with different densities within a confined amount of space.

How Cyclone Separators Work

Rees separators operate on a cyclonic separation principle. Dust-laden air is blown into or drawn through the cyclone and forced to move in a circular motion. The airstream spirals downward to the base of the unit as centrifugal forces move the heavier dust particles to the side walls. The motion continues spiraling downward to the base of the unit. The dust then falls out and the air reverses up through the inner tube and out the top.

Cyclonic separation efficiency is determined by the cyclone geometrical parameters, the density of the solids, and the rotational velocity of the air stream. It is essential that the geometry of each internal component be designed to promote a smooth transition in maintaining laminar flow characteristics.

Types of Cyclone Separators

Model K
Cyclone Model K
REES offers a Model K cyclone separator which is used in applications where large particles exist like chips or shavings. The Model K does this when the speed of the dust filled air stream is slowed down, heavier dirt particles settle out from the air stream by gravity and fall into a hopper where they are collected. Large diameter cyclones can handle high dust loads (50-100 grains per cu.ft) with low pressure drops (1.5 to 3 inch w.c.) efficiently.  Also the Model K is used where height restrictions pose as a problem.
Model KL
Cyclone Model KL
The Model KL is similar to the Model K but with a longer cone section that is used where efficiency is needed for mixtures of finer particles. Also with a longer cone body, the separator has the ability to breakdown particles to low level microns.
 
 
Model RHV

REES's Model RHV separators are used in applications involving higher velocities, finer dust particles, or more abrasive materials. We manufacture the RHV in bolted sections with a tangential scroll inlet and a horizontal outlet.
All models share the following features:
