REES provided dust collection services for a major manufacturer of acoustic and insulation liners for the automotive industry. Located in West Tennessee, the customer’s 220,000 sq. ft. facility needed a solution to contain and collect lint dust that was accumulating on the plant floor and machinery. Airborne dust also provided a workplace hazard that needed to be addressed.
Working in conjunction with a local OEM rep and engineering firm, REES provided piping materials and installation for the 60,000 CFM collection system. After demolition of existing equipment, REES installed a 17 ft. dia. Schenck filter, support structure, airlock, and 300 HP Twin City fan, as well as a backdraft damper and all fabricated pipe and elbows. The inside phase included a 48” dia. main duct line that reduced to two 36” dia. lines utilizing Quick-Fit clamp-together ducting at each drop. REES then fabricated and installed 44 machinery hoods and 40 adjustable air “bleed-in” hoods.
